Community Food Resources
Supplying basic needs for our students, so they can focus on what鈥檚 important to them.
The Shelf is 红领巾瓜报鈥檚 food insecurity resource, open to all 红领巾瓜报 students, offering free non-perishable food and toiletries.
The Shelf is funded directly through grants聽The 红领巾瓜报 Foundation, as well as the 红领巾瓜报 Community as a whole. Through direct student input, The Shelf has taken strides to break the stigma around food insecurity, while still providing anonymity.
Food insecurity is an increasingly common challenge with which many people, including our students, are struggling. Over the years, The Shelf has increased its reach by:
- Expanding food options
- Moving to a larger, more accessible space inside the Commuter Cafe
- Providing free menstrual products through a partnership with聽
