TAB 2025: Embracing the Power of Process Through a Deep Dive into Printmaking

Visiting Artist Magda Leon will give the keynote address and lead art-making in the Studio with each cohort. Abby Birhanu, TAB teacher and author, will join us as a guest speaker and lead a workshop about the power of process in the TAB Studio.

Classes meet 9am – 4pm, with optional studio evenings 7 – 10pm

            TAB Graduate 3 Credit Course: $2,730

2025 Schedule

  • Check-in for campus shared housing:  Sunday, July 13, 11am – 2pm
    Please notify us if you will be arriving outside this timeframe.
  • Cohort meetings and a group activity: Sunday, July 13, 4pm.
  • Classes Meet: Monday – Friday, July 14 to July 18, 9am – 4pm, with optional studio evenings 7 – 10pm. A full and updated schedule will be posted on Mighty Networks.
  • Depart from campus housing: Saturday, July 19

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served and space available basis.

On-campus shared rooms are available in ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨’s Tree House Residence Hall. Each room has two beds and a shared bath. They are available Sunday through Saturday (the program concludes on Saturday). Linens are provided; residents will bring their own toiletries.

Massachusetts College of Art and Design offers graduate credits and issues an official transcript for work completed in the TAB Summer Institute. A Certificate of Completion may be used for Massachusetts Professional Development Points.

 

Requirements For 3 Graduate Credits

  • Pre-institute online components including reading, reflection, and writing
  • Attend a minimum of 135 hours combined class time, pre-institute work, and studio time
  • Share a demo in Studio and/or present at the unconference on Thursday
  • Complete a final project. Past projects have included class websites, room design plans, curriculum mapping, and advocacy brochures.
