All ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ students are encouraged to study abroad! It is important to plan ahead and get the approvals necessary for your academic requirements. Important steps include planning, researching, applying and finally… going on this amazing experience!

We understand that financing study abroad may be daunting. However, there are many ways to fund this experience!

  • ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ students typically pay their usual ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ tuition when they participate in exchange programs, and normally all financial aid applies. 
  • Provider programs usually require students to pay out of pocket and may be less (or more) expensive than ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ tuition, depending on the program.
  • Pell Grant recipients are eligible for the , which can be up to $5,000. ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ students have received this scholarship!
  • For eligible students participating in ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ travel courses, scholarships have covered from 50% up to 80% of the program fee!
  • The COF GEO Center offers resources on scholarships and funding study abroad.
  • If you receive financial aid, it is crucial to meet with the Office of Student Financial Assistance to understand what aid you can and cannot use.

Who You Are Matters!

Studying abroad allows students to immerse themselves in a different culture, to see others from a different perspective, and to meet people from all over the world. Prior to embarking on this experience, it’s important to examine the complexities of your own personal identity and culture, as well as the resources and culture of the destinations you’re considering.
