JET’s Mission

Through the transformation of campus culture, the Justice, Equity, & Transformation (JET) Office at ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ aims to guide and lead work that achieves systemic equity across the institution.

Transformative Learning and Teaching

We create opportunities for learning and engaging with different viewpoints through initiatives like our Thriving Classrooms workshops, Anti-Racism Dialogues, and the Tyrone Maurice Adderley Lecture Series.

Unique Pathways to a World-Class Art and Design EducationÌý

For many learners, obtaining a degree in art and design is a winding road — one with plenty of curves and bumps along the way. This is especially true for high school students with limited access to arts education, as well as first-generation college students who need additional support as they adjust to college life. We aid these developing artists and designers through programs like Artward Bound and Compass, which provide local high schoolers and first-generation undergraduates with roadmaps for navigating their arts education.

Retention and MentoringÌý

Our staff and student leaders support curricular and co-curricular retention and mentoring initiatives for students, staff, and faculty. This support is for — Ìýbut not limited to — those who identify as ALAANA, BIPOC, and LGBTQ members of our community.
